A. Are you independantly rich?
Answer: Heck Yeah I am! Just kidding, I'm actually too nice to overcharge my customers. I have a starving artist image to maintain.

B. Are you single?
Answer: Nope, infact I was able to trick this amazingly beautiful woman into agreeing to marry me. I even talked her into having my children someday, though I think that was a part of the package deal.

C. How old are you?
Answer: Born in Bay City, Michigan in 1973 (sorry to make you do the math).

D. Are your fees outrageous?
Answer: Actually they are not. Call or write me and I'll give you a fair quote on a quality design project.

E. Can you design my son or daughters soccer team logo?
Answer: We all started out our professions on a much smaller scale, right? Call or write me and we can discuss your project. If I cannot fit you into my schedule, I can probably find another designer who can.

F. How long have you been a web and graphic designer?
Answer: They say that as a child, you should ask yourself this question, "if you had a million dollars, what would you do?" From the moment I can remember anything at all, I was drawing pictures and telling stories. If I had a million dollars now, I would ditch "the man" and build my own design firm. (if "the man" is reading this, sorry, I really do appreciate health benefits,  401k and all the free lunches!). In summary, I've been a professional designer (after college) for 9 years.

G. Where did you go to college?
Answer: Proud to say that I was a Western Illinois Univeristy Leatherneck. In addition, I was also an active member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. In the spring of 1996 I graduted and moved back home for a few months until I landed my first full time job. Let this be a lesson to all those out there questioning the opportunties a state school can offer. I may not be independantly rich (yet), but I have something much more valuable . . . I'm happy! Oh and a special thanks goes out to Jan Clough and Terri Simmons, a couple of my more influential professors. Thanks to my career, I'll be able to send my kids to a good college and still remember what real design is all about . . . connecting with people and their ideas!

H. How long does it take to design a website from start to finish?
Answer: As corny as it sounds . . . it depends. You'd be surprised at how complex projects get as they progress. Personally, I have designed a website in three months, but you're talking about an 8 page site and barely any complex programming. The longest a website took was a year, but that was for a 160 pager!

I. Where do you get your inspiration?
Answer: I find that if you really listen to someone . . . inspiration finds you. People are all born with a creative side, some just have trouble connecting with it. To come up with quality design, you have to be able to listen to others AND your inner creativity. The rest, just kind of happens.

J. If you weren't a designer, what would you be?
Answer: I'd still be a designer, I'd just be a designer doing something else (whatever that is). I've gotten my hands dirty throughout the years though, waiting tables, delivering newspapers, painting dorm rooms, and I even had Bill Murray's job from Caddy Shack! Everyday I meet someone who hates their job. They are usually on a quest to gain as much money and recognition as they can for as little effort as possible. My parents would be quite proud to know that their son is not one of those people . . . I love what I do and it often shows.
